Crossing himself
he bowed deeply as he passed in front of the Royal Doors.
Venerating the
icon of Jesus, he prayed: "Jesus have mercy on me.
I am really afraid
of that Paul guy at school. Help me. Take away my fear."
On his way to
school the next day Daniel passed Mr. Zorbas' grocery.
"Mr Zorbas?
Mr. Zorbas stopped sweeping. "Daniel, my son, your late!
You should be at school."
"Mr. Zorbas,
there is this kid that's going to beat me up if he sees me today.
If you were me what would you do?"
"Ah, Daniel,
the Mother of God will stand for you. Ask her to come with you
to school. Trust in her my boy and she will help you."
